Swing States: Left-Wing Money Is Shaping State Politics

A far-left pro-Democrat group spent over $60 million last year in an effort to change laws and implement more liberal policies across five swing states.

According to the Daily Caller, The States Project’s (TSP) focus is to get Democrats elected to state legislatures, and then work with the newly-elected legislators to pass more far-left bills. TSP is a joint effort between the Soros-funded PAC For America’s Future and the 501(c)(4) dark money group Future Now Action.

In 2022, most of the $60 million went to Democratic candidates in the states of Arizona, Maine, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. TSP claims that one of its policy goals is “empowering people over special interests.” The group also supports legalizing abortion, promoting global warming, and changing voting laws in a way that many warn will make voter fraud easier to commit.

Once TSP’s preferred candidates are elected, the group then connects their new lawmakers with resources and groups that will help them plan and carry out their agenda. The group describes this resource as “a message-board-meets-liberal-dating-service interface” that will match liberal lawmakers together on various pieces of legislation.

The group boasts that several states, including Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, have either passed or introduced bills to mandate automatic voter registration. Such laws have been denounced as ripe for election fraud, particularly after widespread fraud took place in the 2020 presidential election.
